Okay so I’ve been a bit lacking post-wise this month, but I thought I’d do a blog and social stats update anyway. I do think it’ll be interesting to see if not posting much this month has had any effect on my stats, so let’s get into the details.
Despite spending a lot of time on Twitter this month, I still only managed around 150 tweets. I think most of these were probably photos linked over from Instagram and blog promo, as again there’s been a lot of drama this month that I just haven’t wanted to get involved in. I’ve gained 133 followers on the platform which is a lot more than in the last couple of months where I’ve been averaging 50-70. I retweeted a couple of tweets about finding other bloggers to follow which I know helped in this. Honestly though, I love using Twitter and am always on the lookout for new people to follow, but it always seems to suggest the same few people who I’ve either unfollowed in the past or just have no interest in seeing on my feed. These tweets seemed like a good way of finding some more bloggers and as a bonus many of them followed me back. Again, I’m not scheduling tweets which I do really want to do but I just can’t seem to find the time at the moment.
Things have changed a lot with my Instagram since last month’s post. I’ve decided to start incorporating flatlays, and for the most part they seem to be going down pretty well. I’ve been posting normal content every other photo and whilst I might gain more followers by sticking to more of a flatlay theme, I can’t quite commit to not posting anything else on my account. Hopefully my engagement will pick back up soon (pretty much all these posts are from the beginning of the month) and then I’ll have a better idea of what’s working and what isn’t. I finally hit 1,000 followers this month and gained a total of 62 followers on the platform. This was largely due to a push on Twitter I think, where I basically begged for followers #sorrynotsorry.
I don’t think I’ve pinned a single thing this month, but Pinterest is still my top refferral with my 5 must-have pages for your bullet journal post (among others). I gained 12 followers on the platform this month which isn’t great but isn’t awful. According to my stats, posts from my blog are getting just under 3.5k views a day on average, so I can’t really complain!
Now for the fun stuff. My sessions and pageviews are actually down versus last month, but when you consider I’ve only posted twice; it’s not really a surprise! The fact that there’s only about 1k difference for both bodes well as I already have quite a lot more content planned for this month than usual. I’ve already mentioned my most viewed post this month, but some notabale posts that are climbing the table are my unidays student discount post, which always does really well on Google, my Nexplanon Implant experience post and my latest post, how to tell if you’re overexposing your blog photos. Fingers crossed I’ll be back on track next month!
My goals for June were to reach 2500 Twitter followers and 1000 on Instagram; one of which I managed. I think 2500 is looking much more achievable for July so hopefully I’ll finally hit it this month. In terms of Instagram, I’m aiming for another 100 followers. As I’ve already got some content planned (some of it’s even scheduled, who am I?) I’m going to aim for one new post every five days in July. It’s something I roughly aim for anyway when I’m posting regularly, so in theory it shouldn’t be too hard.
What are your goals for July? Can you believe we’re already half way through the year?!
