When I first started Project Life, I didn’t think I’d use title cards as much as I do. I’ve always been a fan of photos speaking for themselves, and I’ve always used minimal journalling in my traditional scrapbooks. However, since the Becky Higgins core kits come with tons of title cards and filler cards, it’s only natural that I would progress to incorporating them into my layouts. Most of my title cards just involve a few embellishments and some letter stickers, but I wanted to share them anyway.
This is something I don’t do very often. I bought this card from heylittlemagpie.com as part of the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan core kit sampler and I was really reluctant to use it because I thought it was just too pretty. I decided to use it as a 2013 title card and didn’t add anything apart from my own handwriting.
My 2010 title card looks pretty simple, and just involved me cutting some 8×8 paper down to size and backing it on an ugly 6×4 title card from my Blush Core Kit. I then added some of my favourite washi tape, and some number thickers.
I used a similar technique for this card, and even used the same thickers. I was originally going to do a half and half style design, but ended up covering the whole card in paper and then adding a strip of pink washi tape down the middle to co-ordinate with some of the flowers.
For my 2014 title card, I was really stuck. I added the 2014 number stickers but knew it needed something else. I bought a large pack of buttons from The Works a while back, and as it included pink, blue and yellow buttons I figured I’d put it to good use. The buttons are all different sizes and completely random and I really like the way they turned out on this card.
My 2012 title card is a little different, as I’d used up all the 6×4 slots on the spread already, so I had to make it 3×4. I actually really like this card a lot more than some of my others, and even though it’s simple I think it really adds something to the page. .
I use title cards in loads of different ways, so here are a few examples from random pages in the album. I do own other letter stickers, but these three are probably my favourites.
