The first present I opened was actually on Christmas eve. I popped over to Sam’s mum’s to drop the presents I’d bought them, and she insisted that I opened her present there and then. I absolutely love Daisy by Marc Jacobs, but I’ve only ever had it in miniature form, so I’m so grateful she got me a full 50ml size! It came in a little set, so I also have a body lotion and shower gel to match.
The Citrus Tonic candle was one of my stocking fillers, and it smells amazing! As the name suggests, it’s quite a strong citrus scent, but I absolutely love it!
The Benefit Kit and Naked 2 palette were both on my Christmas list this year, so I was pretty excited when I opened them up! How To Look The Best At Everything has well and truly entered my daily makeup routine, and I feel like my makeup looks better for it! I can’t get over how pretty the Naked 2 palette is, and it also came with four of Urban Decay’s primer samples, which I’m definitely going to have to buy now I’ve got the palette in my life!
My mum saw me browsing through the mug cakes book when we popped into Next together a while ago, so she surprised me with it for Christmas. We make them sometimes at uni but only have one recipe to follow, so I’m excited to have a load more to try out! The best part is they only take a few minutes to cook in the microwave, rather than waiting hours for them to bake in the oven.
My parents got me a cute little mirror that says ‘Give us a Pout’. I never really carry a mirror in my handbag, but this is going to be so useful for topping up my lipstick. No more hassle with the front camera!
The nail varnish was from Sam’s dad, alongside quite a bit of alcohol! I’ve never used Avon nail varnish before, so fingers crossed 2016 is the year I stop biting my nails and get some wear out of it.
My parents also got me a planner. I’ve wanted a proper planner for ages and ages but I’ve never been willing to part with the cash that a Filofax requires, so I just kinda put it off. Since I’ve been so disorganised this year, I thought it was about time I got one, and I believe this is the Collins ‘Paris’ Personal Organiser. I need to sort out my own inserts as I’m not a massive fan of the ones that came with it, but I’m pretty excited to actually start using it.
I don’t know what happens to my underwear, but I always seem to be buying more. My mum got me 10 pairs of gorgeous lacy knickers from Aerie, and they’re honestly some of the comfiest pants I’ve ever owned. I definitely need to have a clear out of the underwear I don’t wear anymore and just replace it rather than holding on to it. I also got two bras from Victoria’s Secret which I’d picked out with my mum at the start of December, but I’m wearing one as I write and I didn’t want to take a photo of the other one on its own, it looked lonely. One is black and lacy and the other is a plain t-shirt bra in a deep purple colour which is gorgeous, so I think I’m going to have a bit of a bra clear-out too.
Other than what I photographed, I mainly just got clothes, chocolate and alcohol. I wanted to show you the clothes but I wasn’t feeling in a posey mood and couldn’t get them to look right just laid out on my bed, so I’ll have to save that for another time! I also got some black converse which I said I’d been eyeing up in my Christmas Wishlist post and they’ve not left my feet since! My brother got me a Lush Gift set that I can’t remember the name of because I took the tag off it, but it included a little bottle of Snow Fairy, Luxury Lush Pud, Rock Star and Candy Mountain. I seriously need to take advantage of these before I go back to uni because I don’t really like our bath there, but I can’t wait to use them! Finally, Sam got me a super cosy jumper from Topshop as well as tickets to see Frankie Boyle in February, which I have to say I’m pretty excited about!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and if you’ve done a similar post I’d love to see it so please leave me the link to it! I’m not sure how much I’m going to be posting over the next week or so without a camera, but hopefully I won’t be absent for too long!
