With my newfound free time thanks to finishing uni, I’ve been struggling to keep myself busy. Cue lots of lie-ins. I’ve also been suffering with a really bad cold/sore throat thing this week which has put a bit of a damper on my end of year celebrations, but despite having no voice I’ve managed to fit quite a few things into my extended weekend, and I thought I’d share them today as I’m putting off writing a new Project Life post until my next batch of photos arrive.
On Thursday evening I went for cocktails with one of my flatmates at Las Iguanas in Wembley. I’ve never been to the Wembley outlet before and after Thursday I’m not sure why! I live pretty close to Wembley but if I wanted mall-style shops I’d probably pick Westfield instead, so I’m excited to have found somewhere new to shop and eat, as the range of restaurants is really great too. I also really want to go back to Las Iguanas for food at some point as even though I’m not a massive fan of Mexican, some of their Tapas look really yummy (and their cocktails definitely were!).
On Friday, me and Sam got up late and had a lazy day in front of the TV at mine before heading out to his in the evening. We got Five Guys at Covent Garden, and I think I’ve persuaded him to go again, even if he did only get a regular coke – how can you have 100+ drink flavour options and get a normal coke!?
Yesterday was much the same with a late start, but we headed out for lunch and then onto the pub to watch Liverpool play Palace in Steven Gerrard’s last game at Anfield. I consider myself a Chelsea fan (My dad’s a Chelsea/Swansea fan, my brother’s a Chelsea fan and my mum’s a sort-of-Palace fan) but when your watching a match in a pub full of Liverpool supporters it’s hard not to support them yourself! Although they lost, we had a pretty good time playing pool with a couple of drinks to tide us over. We ordered dominos when we got back and had a chilled evening watching Netflix. We watched Reign Over Me with Adam Sandler and I actually really enjoyed it. It was weird seeing Adam Sandler not playing his usual funny-guy self, but I’m always fascinated by films with a 9/11 narrative and I just found it really moving even if it was a bit long.
Today started with a late Nando’s lunch after finishing some leftover pizza for breakfast. Super healthy.
I’m expecting some exciting deliveries this week so hopefully I’ll have some more Project Life/Scrapbooking posts up soon as I’ve been really missing those recently! I’m also currently in the process of trying to organise a book swap so I should be announcing that at some point later this week.
