It’s no secret that I love a good room tour. Blog posts, YouTube videos; if it’s featuring how pretty your room is, I’m watching it. I’m not creepy I promise, I just like to nosy at how other people decorate their space. My last room tour on the blog was from last September and shows my old uni room in all its glory. I share my current room with my boyfriend after swapping rooms with my flatmate. I thought I’d do a little tour of the nice parts of the room (i.e. not the carpet) and show you what’s changed.
The bedside table basically houses all of our shit. You know how most people have a crap drawer? Yeah. The top of it looks pretty though, with a candle my mum got me for my birthday, a potpourri/fairy light jar and some books.
I couldn’t get a photo that didn’t make the bed look really plain, so this is the bed. There’s a gap down the left hand side which is where our washing basket is to keep it out of the way and looking tidy.
This is my favourite part of the whole room; an elephant hanging that I bought in Camden. It covers one whole wall with ease and in my opinion looks really good as well as adding a little something to the room.
I was unsure whether to include this as it’s a bit boring, but if you’re looking for over-the-door storage, Tiger is a really good place to go! This hanger cost me less than a fiver I think, and with ten hooks there’s more than enough space to hold our coats, bags and dressing gowns.
Opposite the elephant hanging, is the desk. Sam hung the Ajax flag whilst I was out one day – and no, I don’t get it either. Apparently they’re a good football team. I have no idea. The desk is usually pretty messy, but I had a bit of a tidy up so it’s a lot less cluttered than usual! The remaining bits are mostly recent 21st birthday presents; the chocolate champagne bottle, the little crystal tree and the ‘Things I Love About Megan’ print (thanks Taz, I know you’re reading this!).
The side of the desk houses most of our other storage. I keep all my makeup in my makeup bag, with my palettes underneath. The three IKEA pots hold lipsticks, nail varnishes and my brushes, and the flowery box holds all my medical stuff like paracetamol and plasters. The rest of it is pretty self-explanatory – notebooks, books and folders!
It’s a pretty small room, but it’s homely and I’m really happy with how it looks! I’m really trying to get my posting back on track, so at the moment I’m aiming for new content every three days. Hopefully I’ll see you on Sunday!
