I did want to make a few more posts before doing another ‘stuff I like’ type of thing, but I do want to talk about my October favourites and I didn’t want to get too far into November before doing so, so here we go. I’m going to apologise in advance for the length of this post.
To start things off, I wanted to talk about this body spray from Soap and Glory. I purchased this at the beginning of the month along with a face scrub which I will talk about later and a hand sanitiser (it was three for two on Soap and Glory products in Boots, I had a £10 voucher and couldn’t say no). The scent is amazing, obviously, it’s Soap and Glory, and you don’t need to wear a lot of it. I stop being able to smell it after a while, but I’ve received compliments on how I smell hours after spraying it, so it lasts for a pretty long time. I honestly can’t think of any downsides, though if you don’t like sweet scents then this is probably not for you. Ah-mazing!
My second favourite of the month has got to be this lipstick from Rimmel. It’s in the colour 164 and it’s the perfect shade of red; not too dark, not too light. Lipstick for me is always more of a ‘night out treat’ than something I wear everyday, particularly in a shade this bold, but I just want to wear this colour all the time!
Back to Soap and Glory, this face scrub has been doing wonders for my skin. My skin tends to sit on the oily side with more dryness in the winter, and sometimes just moisturising seems to do more harm than good for my skin. I wouldn’t say this product dries my skin out necessarily, but it certainly feels more fresh and clean after I’ve used it. The pot is quite small, but a little goes a long way so although I probably will need a new one soon I am going to try and be more sparing with it than I was when I first got this one. I don’t really know the ‘right’ way to use this, but I just wet my hands a little, rub some of the product between them, and then rub it into my skin. I then leave it for a minute or two before washing it off. One thing I would say – don’t get it in your mouth!
I just can’t compliment this powder enough. I’ve always used powder to set my foundation, but this powder from Rimmel is just amazing. I don’t know if it’s just because it’s transparent and I’ve never used a transparent powder before, but I couldn’t be happier with it. I’m currently using a BB cream instead of a foundation as my skin has been very kind to me since the summer, and the combination of the two is just lovely. I think it’s going to take a lot to get me to buy a different powder!
My final ‘beauty’ favourite for the month is this shower gel. It smells amazing and the smell lasts for quite a while after you have finished showering, which is a huge bonus for me as it’s just so good! I’ve tried a few of their other scents as well and there’s pretty much something for everyone.
For clothing this month I have two items that I’ve been loving. The first is my Topshop coat, which I got for my birthday as I wasn’t willing to spend £60 of my own money on it just yet! It’s a nice length, and has large pockets that I can fit all my essentials in – on quiet days at uni I can even fit a small notebook and a pen in them which is a bonus! The inside of the hood has a tartan print, which is on trend for the season and adds a bit more colour which is always nice. If you’re looking for a coat that’s going to keep you warm in the winter, I would say this is probably too thin for what you’re looking for, but if you want something which you can layer with, I’d say go for it. It’s certainly perfect for autumn, but I’ll keep you updated!
The second clothing item I’ve been loving is this jumper from Boohoo. I already own a lot of jumpers, but I wanted something a little thinner for the autumn and this is perfect. I’ve been wearing it with both jeans and skirts and it looks good with a collared shirt underneath, so really it’s just the perfect versatile jumper!
Let me know what you’ve been loving this month!
