It really doesn’t seem that long ago that I was typing up my October Favourites, which although were late it seems crazy that I’ve nearly been blogging for a month. I guess first off I’d like to thank all of you that have taken an interest in my blog, your comments literally make my day and it’s been so great to feel like a little part of the blogging community. I don’t really seem to have done much this month but regardless, here are my November favourites!
MAJESTIC cut out boots (£45.00)
An obvious favourite for this month are my Topshop cut-out boots. I think I’ve worn them everyday since I’ve had them, and they’re just amazing. They are so comfy and they go with pretty much everything. I’ve worn them most with black jeans and leggings, but they also look great with skirts and dresses, as well as light wash jeans. As you can see, they still look pretty good, so I will definitely need to be careful with them once it starts raining more!
Left to Right: Gold Dust (Limited Edition) by Barry M (£3.99) and Rumours & Lies by Topshop (£5.00)
Next up I’ve been loving this nail varnish combo, using Rumours & Lies as a base coat and Gold Dust over the top. It’s not often that I paint my fingers and toes matching, but these two nail varnishes look seriously great together and I think they’re quite festive!
I already own other Topshop nail varnishes which I also love, but this is my first Barry M purchase and I can’t say I’m disappointed! According to their Facebook page there are four in this limited edition collection, two of which are exclusive to Boots and two which are exclusive to Superdrug. Whilst this is a little annoying, I guess it’s a good marketing strategy as I definitely want to pop into Boots and get Tinsel Town!
Infinity Ring from Urban Outfitters (£6.00)
I don’t really tend to wear a lot of jewellery, especially not rings as my fingers are wider at the knuckle than they are at the bottom, meaning I can’t often find rings that fit nicely. However, I found this gorgeous infinity symbol ring in Urban Outfitters the other day, and as something I have always really wanted, I just had to have it. My boyfriend reckons it looks like something someone else should have given me, which I do agree with to an extent, but I just think it adds a little something to my otherwise non-existent jewellery look and it’s so cute and simple.
Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation in 103 True Ivory (£5.99)
A fairly recent purchase that I mentioned in my favourite makeup brand post is the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation. (I would like to point out that the packaging was in this much of a mess when I bought it and despite the fact that I cleaned it, it still looks pretty grim – blame Superdrug!) I have probably been using this for about two weeks now, and I am really enjoying it. As I think I have mentioned before, over the summer I used a BB cream as I didn’t really want a heavy foundation on my skin when it was hot, and I finally got around to using it up so thought I would buy a new foundation rather than a new BB cream. I spent quite a while in Superdrug wandering up and down swatching different foundations from different brands and ended up purchasing this. Texture-wise, it reminds me a little of the Maybelline dream matte mousse which I didn’t really get on with, but for some reason I really like this foundation. It’s got pretty good coverage, so although I do use a concealer for my dark circles, I probably don’t need to. It also seems to dry a little ‘sticky’ sometimes, but after I’ve set it with my stay matte powder, I really love the finish of it.
My final favourite of the month is the photo-editing app, Afterlight. Instagram filters can get a little boring, even if that’s the only place you’re sharing an image, and I do love to over-edit photos on purpose sometimes. I don’t usually pay for apps but this was only 69p so I couldn’t really resist as I’d heard some good reviews, and it was definitely money well spent. It’s got everything from your basic saturation and contrast editing, to filters, frames and textures which can really spice up your photos. I don’t really have any issues with this app, and I would definitely recommend purchasing it if you’re looking for a new editing app!
That’s it for this month, link me to your November favourites in the comments and I’ll be sure to check them out!
