I’m pretty proud of my spreads this month and wanted to show you what I did for April. There’s only a couple of pages to show as I don’t do weekly planning – just monthly – but I feel like I don’t do nearly enough bullet journal content and I want to change that. Even if it’s just quick posts like this one.
I decided April 2018 was going to have a green theme. I originally intended to go for a light, summery green, but the pen I used was darker than I thought, so I ended up with this. My previous monthly spreads haven’t used this calendar style layout, but from my future log I knew I’d got quite a lot going on this month and I wanted to be able to see it all at a glance. I made the mistake of writing the word ‘April’ before drawing the calendar so I didn’t quite have enough room for all the boxes. Monday the 24th and 30th share a box, which I’ve managed to crop out of the photo unfortunately!
I’m not a massive fan of the leaf I drew on the right-hand page, and wish I’d gone for something simple like a little row of succulents or something. Or maybe just used pencil to colour it in as it’s very dark! On the whole though, I think this layout works really well and I’m loving the green as it’s very different to what I usually go for.
On the page after my monthly overview, I’ve got a blog post planner. I’ve been drawing editorial calendars which span a few months more recently (like this one) but now I only post a few times a month it seems like more effort than it’s worth to spend time planning out a whole double page spread. I’ve reverted back to a simple list style for my blog planning, and I can already see it being much more manageable.
I’m not too sure what I’m going to put opposite this yet. I need somewhere for my monthly to-do list, but I also feel like maybe it would be a good idea to have a blog page opposite the planner for ideas etc. Who knows, it’ll probably just stay blank for a week.
Anyway, that’s it for my April 2018 spreads. Sorry there’s not much to look at yet, but I’m never able to plan much more in advance! Hopefully May will have many more decoration (and maybe even a few more pages!). Leave your April 2018 spreads in the comments as I’d love to have a peek!
