Blog advertising, as I’ve said before, is something you either love or hate. I personally think it’s a great way of connecting with other bloggers and serves as a platform for helping people find new blogs to read. I can see why some people don’t like it, but I thought I’d share a few reasons why I’ve started offering advertising on my blog.
I like advertising myself, and have seen great results
The main thing that made me want to offer blog advertising is the fact that I have advertised myself on others’ blogs for well over a year now, and I love it. Admittedly I have got lazier with it and mostly just advertise with Gwennan nowadays, but I still enjoy it. I find new people to follow each month and have seen some real improvements in my stats, which has always been my main reason for investing in advertising. I’ve always thought of offering blog advertising, but it’s only since I’ve seen how well it can work that I actually decided to take the plunge and do it.
It’s a way of monetising my blog and earning a bit of cash
Blogging isn’t all about the money, but every little helps right? We all know it’s not always easy to monetise your blog and for me advertising is a really simple way of earning a few more pennies.
It’s a nice way of sharing the love and getting to know new bloggers
I appreciate that I could do this for free but with all the stuff about bloggers not being paid enough by brands that’s going on at the moment – why shouldn’t we pay each other for the services we provide? Expanding your network in the blogging community can be tricky, so having someone help promote you to a new audience is always going to be a benefit in my eyes.
It forces me to put the most into my blog
This is a funny one but when you’ve got people relying on you to promote their content and write certain posts, it helps me stay organised and keep up with my content. I haven’t been the best at actually writing content throughout August, ironically enough, but knowing that my advertisers are relying on me to promote them has at least meant I’ve kept up with scheduling tweets, and I don’t feel like I’ve had too much of a break.
So that’s a quick overview of why I’m offering blog advertising. Do you offer blog advertising on your blog? Do you advertise with others? I’d love to know!
