I don’t know about you, but I seem to spend half the time on my blog worrying about photography. I don’t do a lot of product reviews or posts that require specific photos and I find myself constantly reaching for a back log of photos to use that I just don’t have. So for the new year I decided to create said back log and I thought I’d share some of them with you to help give you ideas for your own photography. Having recently written about my must-have camera lenses for bloggers I realised I actually really enjoy writing about photography and want to continue to do so in the new year.
I’m putting these under a ‘still life’ category as they’re something a bit new to me. I’ve experimented with random props (I love using plants especially) and have just laid everything out on my bed. I actually really enjoyed this set up and definitely want to continue with this going into the new year.
I love a good flat lay even if I’m not particularly good at them. My favourite things to use are pens, notepads and my laptop as they often have some vague relevance to my content. I’ve also played around with postcards and fairy lights in these which is something new to me. Backgrounds can make or break a flat lay and I would love to get some plainer ones in the new year as mine can be quite busy.
This post is just a little look at some of my photo ideas for the upcoming year. I hope it’s somewhat useful to those who struggle for inspiration with their own photography. Most of these photos could be used in many different kinds of posts and you’ll probably see them appearing on Lazy Thoughts throughout 2017. Let me know how you plan your photos for content that isn’t very specific as I’d love to know how you organise them!
