It’s no secret that I love a good blog event, and when I heard about the #BWBLaunch on Twitter it sounded right up my street. I soon got chatting to a group of girls who would all have been going alone otherwise, and we decided to meet up before the event. I managed to find the lovely Harriet on the tube despite the fact that she didn’t have a phone, and we met up with everyone else outside Barbican station. I was also really excited to see Charlotte again after having met her at my first blog event over three years ago!
After much deliberation over what to wear, I settled on the classic ‘jeans and a nice top’ combo and sent a cheeky pic to the WhatsApp girls so that hopefully someone would spot me. Our initial plan was to grab a Costa before the event and get to know everyone a little better, but by the time we’d all got there we barely had time to grab a drink to take away. I got my first ever white chocolate mocha and obviously took a photo to commemorate the occasion.

We made it to the event bang on time and set about mingling. There was a cute little space for everyone to write their handles which was a really nice touch, plus a long table piled with popcorn and some very instagrammable sofas. I didn’t really know what to expect from the day but it was lovely just having a relaxed environment to chat to likeminded bloggers and take a few Instagram-worthy photos. Props to Kirby for organising the whole thing!

Soon enough it was time for the talks; one by Katy of LexiLife95 and one by Katherine McMorran. Katy’s was really inspiring and has really made me want to start YouTube but I’m still not sure if I have the confidence for it (or the time for that matter). I couldn’t see Katherine from where I was sat which made hearing her a little difficult, but I love her photography and am definitely considering contacting her about a collaboration.
There was time for a bit more mingling and a few more photos before it was time to leave. The WhatsApp girls decided to go for pizza afterwards which was a really nice way of ending the day. Bless the waitress that took on all 12 of us at such short notice!
I’m hopefully going to catch up with a few of the girls at #BloggersBall which is taking place on the 10th of June, along with some other bloggers that I’ve met before. I’ve even got some business cards on the way to make me look profesh but what’s the betting I’ll forget I have them when June rolls around? I’m thinking of doing a post on why I like going to blog events so let me know if that’s something you’d be interested in reading. I’d also love to know if you’re going to the Bloggers Ball!
