Well, where did that month go? Last month’s stats post went down a treat and was really fun to write, so I’m back with a rundown of my March stats. March has been a funny month on the blog. I planned and scheduled all my posts right back at the very beginning of the month and so the rest has been rather quiet. I’ve barely promoted on Twitter either which hasn’t really helped matters. So, let’s see how I’ve actually done this month shall we?
Once again I didn’t schedule a tweet a day in March. Obviously the whole Bloglovin’ drama kicked off towards the end of the month so now I’m a bit reluctant to direct people there each day (which is what I usually do when I schedule daily tweets on Hootsuite). I’m going to rethink my daily promotions for April but hopefully get my Facebook page growing as well as my blog following. I do use Buffer when I remember to get some blog promo in throughout the day, but I like to have at least one thing going up in advance each day too.
Overall this month I gained 79 followers on the platform (same as last month ooh) but tweeted a lot less overall, had less impressions, less link clicks and less retweets as a result. Here’s to using Twitter more regularly in April.
I certainly felt like I’d not gained any Instagram followers this month, and I was right. In the whole of March I gained 12 followers. I don’t know what’s been going on with the platform but it seems like everyone is struggling with something or other. My most liked post of the month gained 197 likes which is so close to 200 it hurts. Maybe I’ll get there in April?
My top 6 most liked Instagrams of the month are:
There’s a real mix of photos here of blog photos and ‘out and about’ photos, which are my favourites too so at least I’m getting something right. City shots seem to do well as do cutesy photos, so I’m going to do my best to continue with this sort of theme into April.
I said back in my last stats post about joining a comment pod, but I soon grew bored of it. I think they really work if you find people in your niche, but I just haven’t found one that works for me yet.
My Pinterest engagement is down yet again, though I did get Tailwind at the end of this month which I’m hoping will make a bit of a difference. I gained 20 followers on the platform which is seven more than last month.
I’ve started creating pinnable graphics for my content again which I’m hoping will bring some traffic, but I suppose only time will tell. I’ve also created a Lazy Thoughts board which I’m going to start using solely for these pins and my own content which again I’m hoping is going to help drive traffic towards some of my older posts as well as my newer ones. I also signed up for a business account so I can actually see my analytics which is nice and should help me work out where people are coming from in relation to my account.
My analytics are down again this month, but with everything taken into consideration I don’t think this is hugely surprising. I have been lazy with Twitter which is my second referrer to Pinterest so I know that I need to get back on the bandwagon if I want to bring my stats back up. My bounce rate is still improving, and with more page views than sessions this month I am 100% sure this is do do with my recent theme purchase as it’s so much easier to navigate my blog.
My most popular post for the month has surprised me as it’s finally changed. 5 Must-Have Pages For Your Bullet Journal managed 11 months (!) as my most popular post, but 5 Things I’d Wish I’d Known Before Starting My Bullet Journal has pipped it to the post. It’s another oldie doing the rounds on Pinterest, but I’m happy to have something else at the top of the list (I actually think it’s better than my must-have pages post if I’m honest). I’ve got a couple of bullet journal posts in the pipeline for this month, so I’m happy to be getting back on the bujo blogging bandwagon.
My goals for April are to tweet more regularly, remember to update my Facebook page and try and work with my Pinterest stats to optimise my account. Keep your fingers crossed for me? Let me know what your April goals are!
