I’ve been wanting to write a post like this for a while but have never really got round to it. With February actually seeing my stats drop from usual, I thought this would be an interesting starting point for this series. I’ve definitely posted less this month, shared less on social this month and have seen a drastic drop in my Pinterest referrals which is where the majority of my traffic usually comes from. So, lets get into the details.
This is the first month for a while that I haven’t had a promo tweet scheduled every single morning. I had good intentions, but just never really got around to it. I’ve been keeping up with my Buffer whenever I’ve remembered but it’s definitely easier to set up tweets for the month and leave them to do their thing. Still, I’ve gained just under 80 followers this month which finally saw me tip into the 2000s. I’m hoping to double this number by the end of the year, so I’m off to a good start.
Will I ever nail Instagram? Probably not. However, I did gain 69 followers this month, so that’s something! I also joined my first comment pod on the 28th, so that’ll be interesting when looking at March’s stats. My most liked post of the month got 191 likes, so I’m close to smashing 200 which is great.
My top 5 (most liked) Instagrams from February are:
Pinterest is a funny one, isn’t it? For the past few months I’ve had a significant amount of traffic rolling in from my bullet journal posts. In February I just didn’t see the same spikes. I’m down around 3k referrals from Pinterest but still managed about 3k views from it this month. I’ve gained 13 followers on the platform too, which is pretty good considering I’ve only actually opened the app a couple of times and haven’t really used it for anything blog related. I definitely need to start using the app more and creating pinnable graphics for all my content.
I’m around 6k views down from ‘normal’ – does anyone really have a normal month anymore? – but my bounce rate has drastically improved. This is in part due to less people bouncing from Pinterest I’m sure, but the average time people are spending on my blog does seem to be going up too so hopefully my new theme has been doing its job of directing people around the blog a little more.
My most popular post is still 5 Must-Have Pages For Your Bullet Journal, which has been the case every month since it went live back in April 2016 – almost a whole year!
I’m hoping March is gonna be a much better month. For a start I’m advertising with Gwennan (whose social media stats posts are my fave) and also I’ve actually got content planned. That’s right, one new post every five days coming your way in March 2017. Aren’t you lucky? I haven’t scheduled my tweets for March yet, but hopefully I’ll find some time over the weekend to get back into it. My goals for March are just to maintain my posting schedule and try and work on my social accounts as much as possible. Let me know what yours are!
