Q&A: Meet My August Advertisers

Q&A: Meet My August Advertisers

Blogger advertising is one of those things you either love or hate, and I’m one of the ones who kinda loves it. Sure, sometimes it’s fake and forced and you can totally tell the advertiser doesn’t really care, but sometimes it is pure gold and I really wanted to get my slice of that pie. My advertiser posts are going to have a Q&A format so hopefully you’ll discover some new content and get to know some amazing bloggers all in one. This month is particularly exciting as it’s my first ever advertisers post and it’s taken me so long to put together it’s become a real labour of love! I hope you have as much fun reading and getting to know this month’s fab advertisers as I had putting this post together.

Twenty Something Meltdown - Meet my August Advertisers | lazythoughts.co.uk

My first advertiser is Gwennan from Twenty Something Meltdown. If you follow me on Twitter, this gal probably doesn’t need much of an introduction: I’ve advertised with her for months now, she’s a star, we’re practically twins and she’s Welsh, which just solidifies my love for her to be honest (I’m half Welsh, dunno if I’ve ever mentioned that…). She was also the first person to sign up for my advertising packages, which says a lot about what a genuinely fab and supportive person she is. She’s an awesome illustrator by day with a cracking Etsy shop, and by night she’s a blogging mastermind. I’ll shut up now, and let you hear from Gwennan herself.

What is your favourite post of all time?

The blog post I’m most proud to have written is my UK General Election 2017 post, simply because it took so much time to research, to get all the facts, to illustrate, to keep updating through the campaign and to put together. However, this is obviously a one time kinda post (unless we have another GE this year – dear god not again) so my favourite post I’ve published is one from last year on Aspirational vs Relatable blogging. It was when this argument was just about starting out and I really enjoyed writing it – and got a lot of really good engagement on it.

What’s one blog thing you’d like to be better at?

All the professional stuff. The SEO, fixing my broken links before I get to 300 (true story), writing decent captions for images on Pinterest, coding…all the things I want to teach myself to do and get into the habit of and all the things I never have time for…

What’s the last thing you bought?

Chips. I think that says everything you need to know about me.

What did your last text say?

My last text was a very boring ‘I’m not putting anything in the washing basket, I’m taking all mine home to wash so nothings being used here’ which was to my Mum who was concerned I was going to leave wet washing in her house whilst she went on holiday for a fortnight. My last Whatsapp was a much more interesting out of context message so I’ll leave you with that and that alone;

‘And to be clear I mean wrapping as in wrapping paper not wrapping as in the wrap. And Effi means rapping as in Eminem’

What’s your favourite song at the moment?

I had a proper good belt in the car to Flying Without Wings yesterday. Don’t hate the player. But my actual fav song I have on repeat at the mo is Feels by Calvin Harris and Pharrell and Katy Perry and basically every singer in the business. I kinda didn’t like it to start with but it’s SO summery and Radio 1 play it all the time and it just sorta seeped into my consciousness.

Are you watching a good TV show right now?

Well I, like most of the population, am watching the new season of Game of Thrones which is undoubtedly the best thing but I am also rewatching it from the beginning simultaneously? So throughout the week I am on like season 2 and then come a Monday I’m back to the new season and everyone I’m invested again is dead. No spoilers attached. But my fav thing I watched on TV lately (and not paid for streaming because GOT and I don’t want it ruined for me) is Fargo on Channel 4. It literally just finished but it’s so so worth the catch up and you don’t have to have seen any other series.

Life of Kimberly - Meet my August Advertisers | lazythoughts.co.uk
My second advertiser is the lovely Kimberly from Life of Kimberly. Her blog is a mix of beauty, lifestyle, college and fashion posts (and everything in between) and whilst it’s a relatively new discovery for me I can honestly see it becoming a firm fave. Kimberly herself is also a genuine babe and I’m really excited to have her advertising with me this month.

What is your favourite post of all time?

Beauty posts are probably my favorite to write as it is something that I am super passionate about. I think my favorite is actually one I wrote recently over an extremely hyped (and well-deserved) palette: the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill collaboration, The Jaclyn Hill Palette. I loved doing this review because Morphe has always been one of my favorite affordable, high-quality makeup brands and Jaclyn Hill is one of my favorite beauty influencers ever. I love her personality, how amazing she is, how much she loves her subscribers, and she is just an amazing individual and I was so excited to get to write this blog post and get ahold of the palette on the first release!

What’s one blog thing you’d like to be better at?

I think I would like to be better at reaching a bigger audience. I feel like so many bloggers are so amazing at reaching a wide audience and I normally get the same commenters and only a few views every day. I really want to get to where I have at least 100 views a day. This is a blogging goal of mine and I think if I was better at this skill that it would happen for me extremely fast!

What’s the last thing you bought?

The last thing I bought was an order from ColourPop for their new release! They released pressed bronzers, highlighters, and brushes. I got a bunch of them all and all their new brushes. I am super excited to try it all out and review them on my blog. ColourPop is one of my favorite affordable brands and they are coming out with so many new products here lately.

What did your last text say?

The last text message I received was from my mom’s birth father and he said, “Love u Baby Girl”. The last message that I sent was “Love you, too!” in a reply to him.

What’s your favourite song at the moment?

My favorite song of all time is In Between by Beartooth. It is my favorite band and I actually have lyrics from this song tattooed on my back. I also saw them live, met them, and got their signatures this past Wednesday at Warped Tour in St. Louis!

Are you watching a good TV show right now?

I’m not really actively watching any shows but I need to finish Orange is the New Black, iZombie, My Mad Fat Diary, and continue Game of Thrones. I don’t watch a lot of TV so it’s rare that I get to catch up on shows that I love. I always start new ones and then stop watching them as well. I can’t tell you how behind I am on Amerian Horror Story and that used to be my absolute favorite show.

I really hope you enjoyed this post! I had such a blast writing the questions and getting to know both these girls a little better, and I really hope you did too. If there’s one thing I’ve taken away from this post it’s that I definitely need to get back into Game of Thrones! I finished season 4 and then I think I got a job and just sort of forgot all about it.

Don’t forget to check out both these lovely ladies on social media and have a cheeky scroll of their blogs. Also, let me know in the comments the one blog thing you’d like to be better at as this was definitely my fave question. I’m just nosy, what can I say?
