This week I travelled up to my uni house in London for my flatmate’s birthday and did a bit of furnishing and decorating whilst I was there. If you read my previous house post you’ll know that we had a bit of a problem with a bug infestation that led to me sleeping on the sofa for a couple of nights rather than in my room. We have since had the bugs identified as German Cockroaches which are apparently very hard to get rid of – wonderful – but have also had a few more pest treatments done and in the four days that I was in the flat I saw no live cockroaches whatsoever, and very few dead ones. Whether they have gone completely will be determined, but I feel much more comfortable setting up my room and moving in all my stuff, so I thought I’d show you what I’d got so far! Sorry for the quality – iPhone cameras and bad lighting definitely don’t mix well!

I haven’t moved any of the stuff from my bedroom at home yet (like photos and other decor), so hopefully that’ll make it look even more homely when I actually move in at the start of September. I really like the way it’s coming along at the moment though, so hopefully I’ll still love it when I finish uni!
If you have any questions about where anything is from or whatever I’ll be sure to answer them, I’ll also do an updated room tour post in a few weeks when I’m actually living there full time and it’s looking more ‘lived in’ (read: untidy).
Other bits:
- The wardrobe unit and the bed were there when I moved in so I don’t know where they’re from
- I really want new curtains as the current ones don’t match my theme
- I will hopefully be getting a new blind at some point as the one I currently have is broken
I’ve got quite a few post ideas planned for the next few weeks along with my last few shifts at work, so hopefully there will be no more five day post gaps from me, but I suppose only time will tell. Have you re-decorated recently? Where’s your favourite place to buy homeware?
