Q&A: Meet my December advertisers

Q&A: Meet my December advertisers

Can you believe it’s December already!? This is my fifth month of offering advertising here on Lazy Thoughts and that time just seems to have flown by. As it’s December and therefore basically Christmas, I’ve given this month’s Q&A a festive spin and I hope you enjoy it as much I have. Don’t forget you can find out all about my advertising packages on my advertise with me page if you’re interested in booking a slot for 2018. Let’s get on with the questions…

Melberryy
My first advertiser this month is Mel from Melberryy. Mel’s been on my radar for a while as she’s a part of the group that organised the Blogger’s picnic in Hyde Park a couple of years back so I’m really excited she’s on my sidebar this month! I’m slightly jealous of her as she’s living that London dream I (sometimes) miss, but I get to live vicariously through her London posts so, swings and roundabouts.

What’s your favourite Christmas tradition?
Every Boxing Day me and my Dads side of the family have a crazy day at my grandparents. It’s full of games, food and my cousin makes us all take part in a play (this year it’s Wizard of Oz…I’m the Lion!) and we all have a great old time. I think we’ve missed one in my whole life, and I wasn’t there when I was in Lapland obviously, and it’s been going on forever. I always get there early to help set up/sample the cakes and I’m so excited for this year! Also with my Mum we always used to go to this little bridge on the other side of the Island and play Poohsticks on Christmas Eve and then get a KFC on the way back, which always got me in the Christmas spirit.

What’s the worst Christmas gift you’ve ever received?
I don’t think I’ve ever had a really bad Christmas gift, everybody knows me too well! Although Jack has got into the habit of wrapping up little random things in his room with regular A4 paper and last year he gave me some football cards which 5 minutes later he was crying about wanting them back!

Are you doing blogmas this year? Have you ever?
Hahah no I’m not this year unfortunately. I’ve just started a new job so my blog is looking a bit lacklustre at the moment, though I’m trying to use those two hour commutes to be productive and write some new posts! I’ve never done it before although I did try Blogtober last year and got about half way through before night shifts got the best of me! I always seem to have some excuse or another…

Your favourite Christmas blog post so far?
It took me quite a lot of time to decide on which post to share, mainly as because I’m really not feeling at all Christmassy this year. But after scrolling through Twitter for a bit I found this post from Rachel at No Space For Milk about looking after your Mental Health around Winter, and particularly Christmas. I found this so useful and uplifting as I’ve been struggling with the whole pressure of Christmas this year and it was good to feel I’m not alone! I do love a lot of the Christmas photography that comes out this time of year, the blurring of fairy lights and seeing how everybody enjoys Christmas! Looking forward to seeing more and more festive posts around 🙂

A friendly face this month is the lovely Ellen from E. L. Feelgood’s Vintage. This is her third month advertising with me and it’s been great getting to know her a little better. Her answers to these questions really show what a genuinely nice person she is, and I can’t recommend visiting her blog enough.

What’s your favourite Christmas tradition?
Spending time with my husband and two boys at Christmas, putting up decorations, having the presents all purchased by the 1st of December so we can all walk round town looking at the Christmas lights and stopping to have hot chocolate with marshmallows watching the crowds go by. All the knowledge that we don’t have to rush or hustle our way through the crowds.

What’s the worst Christmas gift you’ve ever received?
I actually don’t think of presents that way. No matter what I receive I am thankful that someone has taken the time to purchase it, wrap it and give to me. As long as I get to spend time with my family over the Christmas period I’m happy 🙂

Are you doing blogmas this year? Have you ever?
As a newbie at blogging, this is the first year that I knew anything about Blogmas. I admire those who do undertake the task but no I wouldn’t have the stamina to complete this challenge and I wish all those who do the very best.

Your favourite Christmas blog post so far?
I would have to say my favourite Christmas blog post has to be this one from Life At The Little Wood. It’s all about alternative Christmas gifts from Concern Worldwide. It reminds me that there are times when the greatest gift of all is giving to someone who is less fortunate than ourselves.

I hope you enjoyed this month’s Q&A! It’s been nice bringing a touch of Christmas to the blog. This has been such a busy month (I hinted about this in my November blog & social stats post) that I don’t seem to have done anything Christmassy on here at all. I do have some photos of the tree I want to share at some point though, and I’m going to the #BlogosphereChristmasFestival so there’s probably some content to come from that, it’s just finding the time to write it up that’s the problem! Let me know what your plans are for Christmas because I’m nosy af, and don’t forget to give both these ladies’ blogs a visit whilst you’re at it!
